Review from The Durban Runner – Morningside
“Over the last two weeks I have tested out the new Lizzy Tri suit.
I have been looking for a comfy and fast Tri suit to meet my triathlon needs this season, which is concentrating on short course triathlons.
I tested out the Tri suit by swimming, cycling and running in it.
While swimming the Tri suit felt like a second skin. No water logging, the fold over pocket on the back avoids any unwanted drag during a non-wetsuit swim. The chamois is quick to dry and doesn’t leave you with a wet bum prone to chafe.
I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort of the chamois during a ride. It looks very thin and I doubted the protection it would give me from the hard saddle on my bike. It was however, really comfortable even on longer rides. The thin chamois was a bonus on the run. It was flexible and barely noticeable, it didn’t hinder the run at all.
The fold-over pocket provides peace of mind that your food won’t bounce out while racing, and it is easy to access both on the bike and on the run.
The Tri suit is breathable with a front zip that can be opened to increase ventilation and mesh at the back to keep you cool. This is important when training and racing in the hot South African climate.
The front zip also makes the Tri suit easy to get on and off – no help needed to zip you up. The zip also has a zip protector which helps with unwanted chafe.
When choosing a Tri suit comfort is key.
It is the most important item for a race – it is with you every second from start to finish. Overall I found the Lizzy Tri suit to be a great Tri suit to suit my triathlon training and racing needs!”
