What is HERO?

  • HERO is described as GoPro’s smallest 4K camera, with a rugged, ultra-lightweight build, simplified controls, and other features. Compared to the HERO13 Black, it’s about 35% smaller in volume and 46% lighter in mass, while still being waterproof and compatible with GoPro’s 35 mounts and accessories.

What’s the deal with the built-in battery?

  • The built-in battery is described as helping keep the HERO camera compact and lightweight. As with many devices that have built-in batteries, GoPro recommends keeping it charged and plugging it in when not in use.

I don’t see stabilized video on my camera… is something wrong?

  • Nothing’s wrong — stabilization is applied automatically within the GoPro Quik app, not on the camera itself. Footage viewed directly on the HERO’s display will look unstabilized. To see the stabilized version, you need to view the clip in the Quik app. For use in other editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, the footage should be exported from Quik first with stabilization applied — otherwise, importing it directly into those apps won’t include the stabilization.
