Compare

Below are some FAQs to help you learn what’s new with fēnix 6 and help you decide which one is right for you.

Which fēnix 6 size is right for me?

Our fēnix 6 line allows you to choose the right-sized watch based on your preference or your wrist size. Below is a comparison between the 3 different fēnix 6 sizes.

For an overview of the feature differences across the fēnix 6 Series, see the new features comparison below.

*Note: Wrist circumference sizes are based on the silicone band.

Why should I select the Pro or Sapphire edition?

Our fēnix 6S Pro and Sapphire editions add features to improve your activity experience, such as onboard music storage, preloaded TopoActive mapping and Wi-Fi® connectivity.

What is the difference between Corning® Gorilla® Glass and sapphire crystal lens?

Corning Gorilla Glass is designed to be scratch resistant, but it is not as durable as the sapphire crystal lens*. The sapphire crystal lens is incredibly durable and is the third hardest mineral, right behind diamond. As a result, the lens is much harder to scratch than glass.

*Please note that while the sapphire crystal lens can be very difficult to scratch, it is still not scratchproof.

What mapping is preloaded on the fēnix 6S smartwatch?

Mapping is not supported on fēnix 6S, but you are able to download up to 5 golf courses near you by using Garmin Connect™.

If you want to view maps on your watch, check out our fēnix 6 Pro or fēnix 6 Sapphire editions, which come preloaded with mapping that includes routable street and off-road networks, popular ski resort maps and more than 41,000 golf courses.

What is Pulse Ox?

Pulse oximetry, or Pulse Ox* for short, is a noninvasive method used to measure the saturation of oxygen in the bloodstream. Compatible watches use a combination of red and infrared lights with sensors on the back of the device to determine the percentage of oxygenated blood, or SpO2%, available in your blood. Typical readings can vary from 85 to 100%, but this can vary widely based on many factors.

*Pulse Ox data is intended for recreational use only. Pulse Ox data should not be treated as any type of medical diagnosis or treatment of disease. This is not a medical device; see Garmin.com/ataccuracy.

What new settings are available in the power manager?

Power manager offers various settings to manage battery use. Some of these features include battery saver and power mode. Battery saver controls your everyday settings so you can adjust features — such as backlight, smartphone connection or optical heart rate — that are on or off. Power modes allow you to set these features to use for your activity profile.

What is the PacePro™ feature?

PacePro is a new addition to our running features, where you can create a pace plan from a Garmin Connect course or by selecting a distance. Once selected, you can customize the guidance based on personal racing strategies, and we provide dynamic grade-adjusted pace guidance based on the elevation profile and distance of your activity.

How do these new features compare?

Below is an overview comparison of available features across the fēnix 6 Series. For a complete comparison, see comparison charts below.
